🛍️ Don’t Forget: Ohio’s Tax-Free Weekend Is Back
Ohio’s sales tax holiday starts today, so this weekend is a good time to knock out some back-to-school shopping. Clothing $75 or less and school supplies and instructional materials $20 or less are all tax-free through Sunday, Aug. 9.

Headlines 📰

🏛️ Some of Ohio’s historic places could have fewer protections under proposed federal changes, including sacred sites connected to tribes with ancestral ties to the region. The changes would make consultation and public comment optional, and preservation advocates are already sounding the alarm. (WOSU)

🪦 A Central Ohio man went looking for his ancestors and ended up uncovering a century-old Clintonville mystery. Seventeen of his relatives were buried in a cemetery that no longer exists, and records can account for only six of them. (NBC4)

🍸 A new Weinland Park bar is leaning hard into the 1970s, right down to the classic cocktails and cans of Little Kings and Miller High Life. Let Me Roll It opens August 14, and the owners are making a point of keeping those cocktail prices below the $15 mark. (Columbus Monthly)

🌦️ Weather: 87 and partly sunny, with a chance of rain and thunderstorms
