Hello, Wednesday! Chelsea, here.

Unless you're new around here, you probably know that I'm a lover of beer. If you are new around here, welcome! Now- back to the beer. As a lover of this divine beverage, I couldn't be more excited about this weekend. Columbus Oktoberfest is going down at the Ohio Expo Center, and so are the brews. Down the hatch, that is. Oktoberfest is a family-friendly celebration of German food, culture, and obviously, beer. Go for the hefeweizen, but stay for the awesome experience.

High of 90F๐Ÿ”ฅwith a chance of thunderstorms after 3 p.m. This should be the last day of this heatwave, with temperatures cooling down as we head into the weekend. ๐Ÿคž

It may not feel like it, but fall really is right around the corner. One of my all-time favorite fall activities is apple picking. Not only does it produce delicious results, it also reminds me to be grateful for the people who grow, produce, and pick food for us to eat!

People... I can't even with all of these amazing rooftop patios happening around the city right now. If you want to see the Short North like you've never seen it, you should definitely check out the preview party before the big Short North Tour of Homes. Going on the tour also goes without saying.

Whenever I watch videos like this I can't help but wish that the OSU Marching Band had a volunteer band. You know, not for alumni, just for band geeks like me, who miss marching band.

 Around Town ๐Ÿก

Columbus City Schools have closed their doors for the day. With the heat wave continuing and classrooms reaching 100+ degrees, the decision has been made to cancel classes.

"

Regarded as the nationโ€™s first organized crime syndicate,

" the Black Hand Society was a local mob brought down by a somewhat unsuspected here: a Columbus postal worker. To celebrate the release of their new book, "Inspector Oldfield and the Black Hand Society" authors William Oldfield and Victoria Bruce will be appearing this afternoon at Half Price Books on Lane Ave.

The nearly year-long saga of Columbus Crew SC's potential move continues. A judge heard arguments during a hearing yesterday afternoon and although no decisions were made, he promised a ruling "as soon as it is practical."

"In 2018, what is left to explore in the world? It seems unlikely, say, that humans might find an untouched forest to study, someplace that hasnโ€™t been bulldozed and burnt and exploited within an inch of its life for precious minerals or virgin timber. But thatโ€™s exactly what happened this past spring, when a Welsh researcher, Dr. Julian Bayliss, led a 28-person team that included scientists specially selected for their different talents as well as logistics experts, rock climbers, and filmmakers to the top of a mountain in Mozambique."
