Thad Mattaโs river front home in Worthington is for sale, and the price just dropped almost $100,000 ๐ก
Happy Wednesday. It's James.
I look at a great deal of Columbus real estate (#dreams) and Thad Matta's river front home in Worthington is actually a really solid value.
It's surprisingly common in the Columbus metro to see small lots and fairly small houses (for the price) under 2250 sq ft in the $700k-$900k price range, particularly in hot areas where houses don't run palatial like German Village, Grandview, or Bexley. Coach Matta had a brilliant riverfront view, a sweet backyard and pool, and smart use of space.

Around Town ๐Business owners in Franklinton are calling attention to homeless camps in the area. They say customers are intimidated, with the problem mostly concentrated west of 315. Franklinton Board of Trade will be holding a meeting tonight to discuss the issue with the community. [Dispatch/Ferenchik]The penalty for not telling a police officer you have a gun in the car after they pull you over is now a crippling $25 fine. This was actually a compromise as concealed carry advocates wanted there to be no legal requirement to tell an officer of a gun in the car, at all. The Fraternal Order of Police opposed the bill, with their spokesperson calling current required notification "constitutionally sound, common sense measure to keep the permit holder and officer safe." [Dispatch/Siegal]Mayor Ginther released a statement saying that in the coming weeks city officials will be sitting down with MLS commissioner Don Garber and Crew owner Anthony Precourt to discuss options for keeping the team in Columbus. [10TV]Anthony Precourt can't get completely out of his Crew stadium lease by moving to Austin. He would be on the hook for either demolishing the structure, finding an equivalent level sports team to move in, or continuing to pay the lease. [Massive Report]
