Real life Mario Kart is coming to Columbus? 🍄🍄🍄

Happy Wednesday, it's James.

Everyone has imagined themselves in a real-life Mario Kart scenario, right? Surely not just me?

An Australian company is bringing that fantasy to life, bringing real life themed go-kart racing to cities around the world, including, apparently, Columbus. I have a few thoughts here:

This sounds very fun.
Nintendo lawyers must be salivating.
Details on this are fairly scarce, to the point we can safely put it in the "maybe isn't going to actually happen" pile, along with Planet Oasis. But my fingers are crossed.

I've always enjoyed history, so this was a particularly fun find. The video is an amazing look into world we don't see in that way very often, and the life he went on to lead was truly remarkable. Columbus should be naming things after this person.

Two interesting bills have been proposed in the Ohio House. The first would extend driver's learner's permits from 6 months to a year. Since I am not a 16-year-old, and since young drivers are terrifying, this sounds like sound policy. [WOSU] 🚙
The second would specifically direct some school construction money to provide air conditioning for districts that currently operate without it. Columbus City Schools, you'll remember, had to close repeatedly at the beginning of this school year due to heat. I'd love to see this go hand in hand with other discussions I have seen around moving the start date of the school year to post-Labor day. [WOSU] 🔥
