House Hunting? Here's What $200k Will Get You Around Columbus 🏡

Happy Wednesday! Chelsea here.

Columbus has so much going on when it comes to the real estate market and it's easy to fall in love with million-dollar dream homes. But what if your budget is a little more typical? No worries here, friends. There are some incredible properties under $200,000 that are waiting to fulfill your dreams. I have to be honest, I'm head over heels for a Tudor-inspired house on this list. If you buy it, please have me over for a party, because it looks rad.

Want to take a closer look at some of the most beautiful churches around the city? Columbus Landmarks Foundation will be hosting a walking tour that stops at four of the city's most iconic sacred spaces in December.

I'm not a parent, but if I was, I can 100% guarantee that I would be dragging my kids to experience the magic that is Double Dare. It was always a dream of mine to go on the show when I was a kid and now the live version is coming to the Palace Theatre next month. And yes, there will be slime.

Talking Points ❤️

The Results Are In 🇺🇸

Incumbents carried the day, as they usually do in Columbus - incumbents were all re-elected on Columbus City Council and Columbus City School Board. City Council members Rob Dorans and Emmanuel Remy won their first-ever Council elections, after both being appointed earlier this year. Other notable results:

  • Municipal Court Judge Amy Salerno, a judge for almost 15 years, was defeated by Jessica D'Varga. Salerno is under a stayed suspension for judicial review and has a "Controversies" tab on her Wikipedia page, which maybe tells you everything else you need to know.

  • School levy results: Bexley, Groveport-Madison, and Westerville all passed.

  • Franklin County Children's Services levy easily passed.

  • You can view all the results right here.

One More Election 🏈

The first College Football Playoff rankings are in, and

, the Ohio State Buckeyes are #1. LSU, Alabama, and Penn State round out the top 4. Ohio State plays Penn State at home on the 23rd.

Mapfre News ⚽️

The Columbus Crew have scaled down their Mapfre Stadium sports facility renovation plans in response to concern by the state over Fairgrounds parking. The proposal still expands the footprint from 17.5 acres to 40 and will cost city taxpayers $50 million. More details at the link below:
