The best hot chocolate In Columbus ❄️
Hello Wednesday. It's James.
When this article was planned it was freezing, but of course given that it's Ohio we're already back into 50 degree days.
But we do have plenty of cold weather ahead, and if you have to be outside a good hot chocolate can really take away the bite. And while there's a Starbucks on every corner for your emergency hot chocolate needs, we think you can do better with some planning.

Navigator Originals ✏️Columbus Christmas Tree LightingsI think the weather has thrown me off this year, because it feels surreal that Thanksgiving is next week and we are full on into holiday time. Around Town 🏘Having a Columbus library card now allows you to use a streaming movie service called Kanopy. It's not going to replace Netflix, but it does look interesting - lots of documentaries and independent film. Worth checking out. Should work on most of your usual streaming sources (Roku, Apple TV, etc.) [Columbus Library]The Atlantic has a longform article on central Ohio's homegrown Nazi, Andrew Anglin. Much of this will be a rehash to Columbus residents already familiar with Anglin and his hate website the Daily Stormer, but there are some new pieces of info, including a heavy look at his background, more on his reaction to Charlottesville, and news that he's apparently in the US now (previous reports placed him in Germany or elsewhere outside of the US.) From the Atlantic: How did Andrew Anglin go from being an antiracist vegan to the alt-right’s most vicious troll and propagandist—and how might he be stopped? [The Atlantic]The Ohio legislature seems to only have time for abortion and guns of late. They're now pushing through a bill that will give Ohioans the same Stand Your Ground law that Florida possesses. These allow anyone to shoot anyone if they feel threatened at any time, extending the concept of castle doctrine outside of the "castle". Current law requires people to retreat if given reasonable opportunity to be able to claim self-defense. Prosecutors will also now have to prove a defendant didn't act in self defense, which is a reverse of the current order where defendants have to prove they were acting in self defense.
