Hello, Wednesday! Chelsea here.

I think I may be about to let you all in on one of Central Ohio's best-kept secrets. If you've already heard of Rush Creek Village, consider yourself cool. This unique midcentury modern neighborhood is peaceful and one with nature, all on the cusp of North High Street in Worthington. It's one of the coolest little neighborhoods around and if you're up for a drive, it's definitely worth a visit.

Today, at 4:30 p.m., American astronauts will launch from American soil for the first time in nearly a decade. This historic launch for NASA starts the ambitious plan to send astronauts to the Moon for a permanent NASA presence, as part of a longer plan to get to Mars. As a new sort of space race kicks off, we thought we'd take a look at why Ohioans have already proven how great we'd be at life on Mars.

Whether we'll need hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space in the future or not, the Scioto Peninsula project will break ground at the end of the summer with a projected opening of September 2022 for all Phase 1 buildings.

Gyms and fitness centers across Ohio were able to begin reopening yesterday. Additionally, the Governor created a new task force for fighting COVID-19 in congregate living facilities.

Talking Points ❀️

Playoff Bound πŸ’

It's been a strange journey, even before coronavirus, but for the fourth straight season the Columbus Blue Jackets are a playoff team. They'll be facing off at some point against the Toronto Maple Leafs, possibly here in Columbus if the city is selected as one of the two "hub cities" where all games will be played. We're still some time away from any playoff scenarios, but it's thought teams will be able to resume practice in a training camp format in July. The Blue Jackets were a ridiculously banged-up team before play was stopped, and most of those injuries have now healed, so, who knows what could happen? More on exactly how this will all work at the link below.

Predictions πŸš€

Everyone wants to know how things are going to go in the next 18 months, but it's hard to tell the future in the best of times. Check out these 1962 predictions of what Columbus would look like in the year 2000 for a good example of just how hard it is to accurately speculate.

Hot talk in central Ohio lately, at least judging by local Facebook groups, has been focused on what to do in local school districts that are about to face budget deficits from state funding cuts. This article from Westerville suggests it might not be so bad.
