Shower The People You Love With Love...We Mean Don't Forget Mother's Day πŸ‘΅πŸ‘ΈπŸŽ

Columbus Navigator Logo

Happy Wednesday, it's Tracie.

I'm sure you've all been great children, not just in childhood, but today. You already know that Mother's Day is

next Sunday

, May 13th. You definitely don't need me to remind you to go and buy a gift, because you took care of that months ago, right? πŸ˜‰

Just in case you haven't picked up something yet (don't worry, Mom, I've got you covered), we've got your back. And, lucky for you, all the shops are local so you've got plenty of time to shop. For your mom, your grandma, your mother in law, heck, treat yo' self even, we won't tell. 🌹

Wednesday Weather 🌑It's going to be another beautiful day in the neighborhood β›…. Mostly sunny with a high of 82 today πŸ™Œ.

Navigator Originals βœοΈBridge Park Adds Another Great Restaurant- The Avenue Dublin Will Open This WeekAnother delicious Cameron Mitchell restaurant? Yes, please. The second location will feature brand new signature menu items. Just a tip, you can make reservations now! πŸ—8 Central Ohio High Schools Are Among The Top 20 In The StateI went to high school in Grove City (which is not on the list, but I don't think that's my fault), but I remember at that age having misplaced stereotypes about other schools in the area. None of which included the label of "best in the state." Had I only known how great of an education system we have in the greater Columbus area, I might not have cared which schools had their own indoor pools. 🏊

Around Town 🏘I love filling out surveys. Whenever we get a Nielsen survey in the mail, I snap it up, and not just for the $1 they include. I also really love The Census πŸ“œ. And while the next Census isn't scheduled until 2020, Columbus joined a dozen other cities this week, (along with 18 states) in a lawsuit to remove a controversial question about citizenship from the questionnaire.  [WOSU]ECOT is in the news once again, this time specifically regarding their spending on television ads.Despite ceasing operations in January, they may be in hot water for using taxpayer dollars illegally. πŸ’° [Dispatch]It's official! Former OSU standout J.T. Barrett is a saint πŸ˜‡. Okay, not literally.  But he did sign a 3-year contract with the New Orleans Saints 🏈. [ABC6]

Longread Remember when you wouldn't call someone your boyfriend/girlfriend if it wasn't "Facebook official?" Or maybe that's still a thing, I don't know. I just remember sitting in a computer lab in college and finding out that finally, our school had been added to Facebook.  It was a friending frenzy. πŸ‘₯I know you youngsters have Tinder, Bumble, and who knows what else, but Facebook is jumping into the world of online dating πŸ’. You don't even have to worry that they'll try and match you with someone your friends with, awkwardness avoided, the goal is to match people with common acquaintances in the same geographic area.  Hopefully, they don't relaunch the "poke" feature with this new rollout. NPR: It's A Date: Facebook Enters Online Matchmaking
