This Augmented Reality Mural In The Short North Is Insanely Wonderful ππ¨

Happy Wednesday! Chelsea here.
Okay friends, stop what you're doing and head to the Short North. Well, I guess that's a little drastic. In all seriousness though, there is something insanely awesome worth checking out. I'm sure that you've all seen the giant murals on The Graduate Hotel. But what you may not be aware of is that they are actually augmented reality murals. The murals are massive, beautiful, and tell an incredible story, especially when viewed through an app on your phone where they literally come to life. This is probably my favorite art installation in Columbus ever, and I highly recommend checking it out.

Everyone knows that I'm a sucker for anything involving better public transportation in this town. But I don't want to set my hopes too high for the Hyperloop. If you've been wondering what all the fuss is about, and whether or not it's got any chance of becoming reality, take a look.

Trying to be more budget-conscious this year? Well, that doesn't mean you can't still check out loads of free things around Columbus, including museums. Save that money, fam.

Restaurant Closures πΈ
We've seen a flurry of restaurant closures in recent days. A new year can mean new beginnings, and sometimes present good timing to walk away from a business, but we'll have to keep an eye out to see if this is a harbinger of things to come. Here's your list of newly closed restaurants, links go to goodbye posts or news on the closing:

Ohio is trying to crack the road salt habit, and turning to an unlikely source: beets. This is after a 2018 effort by the Republican-led Ohio House to use a byproduct from oil and gas drilling that turned out to be radioactive, and no,
. A gentler deicing product could potentially save on road repair costs.

Milo Arts π¨
I really enjoyed this oral history of the three-decade history of Milo Arts, an artist community and live-work residence in Milo-Grogan:
