One of the most beautifully peaceful places in Ohio is just a 40 minute drive from Columbus.
Hello Wednesday. It's James.
If you're craving serenity, look no further than Newark and the Dawes Arboretum. The Arboretum is over 2,000 acres of gorgeously cultivated trees, and it includes a driving tour, hikes, and events, including a regularly held "date night" that I bet is pretty special when the leaves change colors.Navigator full story: The Dawes Arboretum Is The Day Trip Locale For Anyone Looking For A Little Magic In Their Life [Miller]
The Rundown:Weather: 78. Mostly sunny. To do: Your Columbus Crew are taking on LA Galaxy at 7:30 PM. The Crew would be in the playoffs if the season ended today, but they'll need a solid finish down the stretch to maintain that playoff spot. Their home games usually sell well vs. LA, but there's still tickets available - all the details here. Bonus thing to do: It's Bar Louie's birthday at Easton, and they are celebrating with drink specials all day long. $3.25 Signature Martinis and $1.25 Select Domestic Bottled Beer from 11am to 9pm, more details here.

The Wednesday Conversation:The city of Oberlin voted to rename Columbus Day "Indigenous People’s Day", the first in Ohio to make the change. Some supporters argued the day is more of a celebration of Italian-American heritage than of Columbus as an individual, which I can buy - perhaps we could have an Italian-American day of some kind added to the calendar. I'm pro - more holidays. [Dispatch Staff]Senator Sherrod Brown urged the FBI to disclose all of the hate groups operating in Ohio.
