6,765 days after the first game in Columbus Blue Jackets history, the franchise has finally won a playoff series.

And they did it in style, sweeping the third-best regular season team in NHL history. It's difficult to understate just how dominant the Tampa Bay Lightning were this year, or to overstate just how much the Blue Jackets outclassed them in this four-game sweep. This, this moment right now, is what's great about sports, the reminder that anything is possible. Long shots sometimes do pay off. Faith can be rewarded. Life can be a grind, and the lift an event like this provides makes all the nonsense that comes with being a sports fan completely worth it.

The Blue Jackets will either play the Toronto Maple Leafs or the Boston Bruins in round 2, but until then tide yourself over with 

 (so worth it, trust me) and feel some serious Columbus pride with this
