The 8 best grilled cheeses in Columbus 🧀

Just keep swimming, Columbus. James here.

Days when national news intrudes, it can be hard to know what to say in this email. I founded this site to be an optimistic voice in the city of Columbus. Today, it's clear we don't live in an optimistic time. That creates a conflict between our purpose and the reality of the situation on the ground. Yet, there's nothing to do except to love each other, to love this city, and to keep going. We can't fix things from the Columbus Navigator office (it won't stop us from trying.) But we will keep going.Be kind to yourselves today, and keep fighting the good fight. ❤️

Weather ☀️83 - Sunny.

Around Town 🏘The Dispatch profiles a trauma surgeon who just finished up a $1 million renovation of a Franklinton warehouse. The 5,000 sq ft building has been turned into an interesting home full of art, inside and out. Check out the pictures at the link and see how things turned out. Longread 🎸I could have chosen any number of excellent articles on guns in America (here's one), but instead here's a profile of Tom Petty from Rolling Stone in 1980. It was a pivotal time in Petty's career, and came on the heels of legal fights with his record label. It's hard to tell what his status will be when you read this (at the time of my writing we have a kind of Schrödinger's Tom Petty situation, with poor journalism happening) but whatever comes to pass, it's a good read about a great musician. After resolving his tangled legal problems, the rocker has emerged with a Top 10 album.Rolling Stone: Tom Petty's Real-Life Nightmares: Rocker on 'Damn the Torpedoes' Woes
