Welcome to the final stretch of 2019. I know, it's sort of scary when I say it like that. But seriously, whether we like it or not, we are in the homestretch (can you hear the faintest sound of Christmas music?) This time of year can get perilously busy, which is why I'm coming to you now with some can't-miss events. Get these on your calendars, people! You won't want to miss out on one of Columbus' best months of the year.

I'm feeling particularly nostalgic this morning and these old commercials are hitting the spot. This also made me realize how much I miss the old COSI. It's irrational because the new one is incredible, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

I would have gone nuts for a crosswalk like this as a kid. Heck, I'm going nuts for it now and I'm 31 years old. They're just so bright and happy. Plus they make kids safer, which is always a win. Columbus could take a lesson?

It will probably not surprise you to learn that the Columbus Dispatch has endorsed all incumbents for Columbus City Council, despite condemning the appointment process that gives us most of our City Council members.

And flowing from that last article comes this accounting of the tax abatements Columbus City Council members have handed out in recent years. One fact from the piece: Franklin County has more tax abated property than any other county in Ohio, at $3.2 billion in abated property as of 2017.
