The 9 most annoying people you'll meet in Columbus πŸ˜“

Happy election day. It's James.

We love Columbus (and our mission statement is to make everyone who lives here love it just as much as we do), but there are still some things that get a little under our skin about the people who live here.

Zoey has the 9 most annoying people you'll meet in Columbus. Before you get too offended, just know that we made the list ourselves, coming right in at the second slot.

Navigator Originals βœοΈ10 Columbus Restaurants Where You Can Step Back In Time To When Things Weren’t Such An Eternal HellscapeRemember when the world wasn't a constant barrage of horror? Where you could escape the news sometimes? These 10 restaurants are your best bets for stepping back in time (sometimes 100+ years!) and pretending everything's ok.The Hip Hop Nutcracker is Coming To ColumbusChristmas news is starting to trickle in, and this new take on The Nutcracker looks super intriguing.

Around Town 🏘Ohio high school students are now required to learn what it means to become an organ donor. In Central Ohio a group called Lifeline of Ohio visits classrooms, telling students exactly what the process of donation looks like and how many people are waiting for life saving organ donations, dispelling some of the common myths and misconceptions around the practice. When you stop and think about it, it's crazy how little information was previously given to 16 year olds with newly minted licenses, and it's probably not surprising that only 60% of people eligible sign up to be donors. Hopefully this will help nudge that number up over time. [Dispatch/Viviano]Health insurance is such a pain in this country that some doctors are choosing to forego it entirely, moving to an all cash model. A doctor in central Ohio named Heather Bartlett is claiming to be the first to do so here, offering plans ranging from $59 to $149 a month. The idea is that you'll receive more personal service and the office will avoid the overhead that comes with having to deal with billing insurance companies. My favorite part? There's an actual list of prices for labs and tests on her site. Amazing that displaying prices like this isn't the norm. Fischer has said Columbus is willing to buy the team to keep it here. [10TV]

Longread 🍽You have to read this account of a man who risked it all to open a restaurant in Toronto. I sent this to my wife originally, and she couldn't read it in one sitting, because it just gets more awful the longer you read. Then I encountered rats, endless red tape, crippling costs and debt-induced meltdowns, started popping sleeping pills, lost my house, and nearly sabotaged my marriageToronto Life: A Restaurant Ruined My Life
