Around Town 🏘ODOT will start construction on a "smart lane" on I-670 beginning next summer. The lane will be open during evening rush hour Monday-Fridays. There will be overhead message boards every 3/4 of a mile letting drivers know if the ... lane is actually open or not. Hopefully people will look up from their cell phones long enough to figure it out. (Self driving cars, please.) One would allow counties and townships to initiate statutes and referenda, something that cities can do, but they cannot. I can see some potential downsides here, since counties in Ohio are so often at war with the cities contained within themselves.
