This Historic Estate Has Enchanting Gardens And Downton Abbey Vibes πŸŒ·

Hello, Tuesday! Chelsea here.

It may be a little rainy today, but it's never a bad time to be planning your next outdoor adventure. I have a fantastic suggestion, but fair warning, you will have to cope with not having access to a bathroom. Kingwood Center Gardens is a bit of a Central Ohio hidden gem. This historic estate is 47 acres of beauty and the perfect way to spend a few hours forgetting about all of your troubles. It's genuinely stunning and gives off mad Downtown Abbey vibes. Who's ready to explore?

One thing that will never stop putting a smile on my face is people helping other people, especially here in our local community. A coalition has formed to create Mobile Produce Markets, which are giving a week's supply of fresh produce to families in need for free throughout the city. This is such a needed resource to combat food insecurity during COVID-19.

Hey all you donut lovers, listen up! A week-long celebration of your favorite sweet treat is coming to Columbus on June 1. You can get all of the deets on Columbus Donut Week right here. Anybody else so freaking excited about this?

The main weapon we have in the fight against COVID-19 continues to be social distancing. The Governor and his team continue to stress the importance of keeping a safe distance from people, frequent hand hygiene, and wearing masks in public. This is especially true now that businesses are opening back up.

Talking Points ❀️

Garden Season 🌸

It's time for our yearly reminder that in Franklin County you can receive a $50 rebate "for the purchase of an approved rain barrel, compost bin, or native plants and trees from a licensed retailer" for simply going through a quick online course on stormwater with the aim of keeping Franklin County watersheds healthy. A New Normal πŸ“Έ

This is kind of weirdly poignant for something that would normally be mundane - the BBC asked readers to submit their last "normal" photo on their phone. As they put it: "

The coronavirus pandemic has changed how we live. What was ordinary just a couple of months ago seems almost unrecognisable.

Restaurant Comportment 🍽

Nick from Breakfast With Nick, has a Facebook post that goes into the realities of what restaurants, and their workers, are facing as they reopen. I doubt any Columbus Navigator readers need any of these reminders, but it's good to remember how difficult some people are going to be to restaurant employees right now in a challenging time. Supplying workers with some extra kindness and tipping generously (when possible) can help make up for some of the people who unfortunately haven't been raised correctly.

The front door is getting way more home attention in recent years, and if you need some inspiration check out this IG account -

. It was very tough to pick a representative photo, but I love these little trees and so this was my winner. 🌲🌲
