The Convention Center may finally have a critical 1,000+ room hotel πŸ¨πŸ›Œ

Hello Tuesday. It's James.

This is a big deal.

For years we have heard that the Convention Center doesn't have enough hotel rooms to support bringing the largest conventions to Columbus, but that's been changing in recent years. We have seen boutique hotels like the Joseph spring up, as well as the very modern Hilton directly across from the Convention Center.

And now comes news of a large expansion of that Hilton, a 22 story structure that will hold 470 rooms. This will give the Hilton over 1,000 rooms, a game changer for attracting conventions according to city officials. Read more about the project, and see the latest renderings at the link.

Trappers make between $50 and $100 per bobcat pelt, but data is scarce when it comes to just how much the population has recovered. Ohio University just began studying the subject, and will have results following this summer's data collection. [Dispatch/Renault]
