Hello, Tuesday! Chelsea here.

One of the best things about this city is the fact that new restaurants are opening all the time. But nothing, I repeat NOTHING, gets me more hyped than a new bagel spot. We have criminally few places to get delicious, well-made bagels in Columbus so you can bet that I’m welcoming Bears Bagels into their new brick-and-mortar spot with open arms. I hope you’re hungry cause they’ve got some delicious treats lined up this month.

🚵‍♀️ From Mountain Biking to Inclusive Playgrounds, These Park Projects Are Transforming Columbus
There are some big changes on the horizon for parks around the city. From a new mountain bike trail in Gahanna to a total overhaul of one of Columbus’s most overlooked parks, it’s always nice to see our communal spaces being improved.

💦 7 Must-Visit Lazy Rivers On A Hot Summer Day
The weather today might be gorgeous, but this is Ohio so naturally, we’ll be experiencing a drastic temperature change by the end of the week. Start planning how you’ll beat the heat by choosing one of these amazing lazy rivers to float down. P.S. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Headlines 📰

👏 Congratulations to our friends over at Matter News, who won two Cleveland Press Club awards for their feature, written and reported in collaboration with Columbus Monthly, that detailed the downfall of the corrupted Columbus police department Vice Unit. (Matter News)

👨‍🍳 The first time that I had Chef Avishar Barua’s food was genuinely life-changing. I don’t know what this city did to deserve him, but let’s keep doing it. If my effusive review can’t convince you to go to Joya’s for breakfast, maybe this will. (Axios Columbus)

🛒 If you’re over a certain age and you grew up here, there’s a decent chance you’ve shopped at a Big Bear at least once. Known as the “Original Columbus Supermarket”, the first Big Bear opened back in 1934 and was an instant hit. (Ohio Memory)

☀️ Weather: 76 and sunny
