A giant inflatable gorilla + Leveque Tower = Columbus Nostalgia Overload πŸ˜πŸ¦

Happy Tuesday! It's Chelsea.

Are you guys ready to take a wild ride back in time? I hope so because I have such a treat for you this morning. You see, the internet is a glorious place. If you look hard enough you can find almost anything, including, but not limited to, one of the most epic advertising displays this city has ever seen. Picture this: It's Columbus in 1988. The Leveque Tower is looming over Columbus and at its peak, a massive gorilla stares down toward the city. I'm not making this up, people. This is a very real thing that happened and if you weren't alive yet or don't remember it, you have to see it for yourself to believe it. This video may be one of my favorite things I've ever seen.

Drexel Theatre in Bexley made a huge announcement on their Facebook page last night, and it may or may not involve The Lego Movie 2.

I don't think it's a secret that I adore dogs. Being able to follow all of these adorable pups on Instagram warms my cold, frozen heart. If you don't think that Corgi is the most precious thing you've ever seen, I'll be shocked.

Talking Points ❀️

Extreme weather week β˜”οΈ

The Columbus Dispatch has a wild photo gallery of the 1959 flood that took place January 21st and 22nd. Six inches of rain fell, causing the worst flood since the big one in 1913. I can't imagine how miserable it must have been to go through something like this in the middle of winter.

Headlights, please πŸš˜

Ohio is 10 years into a law mandating the use of headlights when windshield wipers are engaged, but how many people don't know that's the rule?

A gas tax increase is potentially on the horizon πŸ’Έ

Money for new Ohio road projects has run out, and spending on maintenance is dropping, causing many to think the gas tax will have to go up. Many factors have led to this, including more fuel-efficient cars. It's interesting to read articles

that take it as a fait accompli that mass transit or other creative solutions aren't part of a potential solution. It's roads or bust in Ohio, and it's looking more and more like the latter.
