Take a dip in one of these Hocking Hills hot tub retreats πŸ˜ŽπŸ₯‚

Happy Tuesday! It's Chelsea.

I don't know why, but every single year I manage to convince myself that I magically won't hate winter. But it almost never works. When I was a kid, I liked it because there was always the random chance that I'd get a snow day. But as an adult? Not my fav. Luckily, there are places like the Hocking Hills nearby. You see, Hocking Hills is actually one of my favorite places to go in the winter because it usually means I can spend the weekend sipping a yummy adult beverage in a hot tub. Admiring winter from afar. If you're looking to plan a little getaway this winter, let me help you out. 😎

Are you a victim of Hipster Ariel syndrome? You know, you just wanna be where the cool people are? I'm sorry. That joke was truly unforgivable. But for reals, have you wondered which neighborhoods are on trend right now? I can guarantee some of these will surprise you.

Is there anything worse than someone saying, "Oh you can do it, it's so easy" and then the it in question turns out to be massively complicated? Well, this is not one of those situations! Honestly, volunteering in Columbus has never, ever been easier.

Talking Points ❀️

Our newest appointed City Council member...

Columbus City Council selected their next colleague last night, choosing city attorney Shayla Favor. Favor has a law degree from Capital and since 2014 she has been working on an initiative that deals with the city's blighted properties. Favor has said she specifically wants to work on affordable housing while continuing to work on abandoned housing in the city. Favor seems like a perfectly good council member, but underlying the selection is the reality that Columbus has still only had

, apart from previously appointed members winning re-election. City Council will appoint another member next month.

Pretty soon you're talking about real money...

Mayor Ginther and city leaders want to borrow a billion dollars for city services, and will put a bond issue on the May ballot to try to do so. Details so far are scarce, but we know they want to spend $50 million on affordable housing initiatives, a "real-time crime center", and things like recreation and park facilities, and basic government functions.

CPD continues living in the national spotlight...

In a story that was inevitable, Stormy Daniels has sued Columbus Police. She's seeking over $2 million, and credibly claiming her arrest by Columbus Police was an intimidation attempt and politically motivated. All three women arrested in the incident are suing the department. Vice is currently under investigation by the FBI.

Is it bad that I’m already thinking about the weekend? The @theboxhop has been on my mind since it hit the site last week. Anyone plan a stay yet?
