Have a buzzing good time at the 2018 Lithopolis Honeyfest 🐝🍯

Columbus Navigator Logo

Happy Tuesday! Chelsea, here.

I don't know why I remain constantly surprised by the fact that it's hot in August, IN OHIO. Yet, every morning I wake up and walk out into this muggy nightmare thinking, WHY? The only thing getting me through this 90+ degree weather is the fact that my favorite season, the season to top all other seasons, is right around the corner. I love fall in Ohio. The skies are blue, the leaves are colorful, and it's just a genuinely beautiful place to be. Plus, fall festivals are my jam. Leading the pack, for me, is the Lithopolis Honeyfest. I'm a sucker for a good cause, and helping to save the world, even if it's only one honeybee at a time, is a movement I can get behind. Here's everything you need to know about the 12th Annual Lithopolis Honeyfest. 🍯🐝

Kirk Herbstreit is one of my top 5 favorite OSU players of all time, so you can bet that when he speaks, I listen. Herbie announced his top picks for "The Herbies", his annual list of favorites, and of course he gave Ohio some love.

Are you smarter than a drunk person? I think you're pretty smart, but you can find out for sure on BrewDog's brand new streaming service, where they'll air a game show (and hundreds of hours of content) tackling that same topic.

This heat is no joke, and Columbus City Schools will be dismissing by 1PM in response. One more data point for my ongoing "start schools after Labor Day" campaign.

The Columbus Citizen on a 1956 Elvis Presley performance at Vets Memorial. Some tremendous history here in the form of great photos and, often very funny, contemporary accounts of Presley's visit.

Tourism officials from Columbus recently traveled to Chicago to attend the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting. This is a convention for people who plan conventions, and Columbus will play host next year. If our city makes a good impression it "

could reap an estimated $500 million in future association-meeting business booked by ASAE members who like what they see in a city that hadn’t made an impression before.
