The Short North Stage has announced a killer 2018-19 show line-up π

Hello Tuesday. It's James.
Short North Stage, at the Garden Theater, is one of the best things happening in Columbus.
It's an incredible space, with consistently compelling performers and show selection. If it's something you haven't gotten around to checking out, the 2018-2019 season announcement might give you the push you need.
Mamma Mia!
is the headliner, but I'm personally psyched to take in
The Toxic Avenger: The Musical
. Check out the rest of the season at the link.

Tuesday Weather π‘I'm leaving the country for two weeks starting Thursday for a family vacation to New Zealand, and like 80% of my excitement is centered around the fact that I'm getting away from this ridiculous April weather. It'll turn by the time I get back, right? 44 and cloudy. βοΈ

Around Town πOhio pushed hard for Chinese manufacturer Foxconn to set up shop in the state, but the company chose Wisconsin. It's looking like a Pyrrhic victory however, as the jobs so far only pay $14 an hour, even though Foxconn had promised the jobs would average $54,000 per year. These jobs aren't even going to full time workers. Instead, they are mostly being filled by temp agencies (some pulling workers from Illinois). Finally, local residents are being forced to move from their homes to build out the factory, with the state calling their homes "blighted" despite many being brand new. This serves as an always timely reminder that in the race to the bottom it's usually better not to win. [Belt Magazine - Blighted By Foxconn] πDid you know there's a local one woman cheesecake company? The Cheesecake Girl serves up flavors that include jelly donut, Girl Scout cookie (I'm there), and more traditional offerings like Oreo. Yes, I'm claiming Oreo as a traditional cheese cake flavor. Columbus Culinary Connection has an interesting interview with the proprietor where she discusses how she got started and how she runs the business. [Columbus Culinary Connection] πJoseppi's has a new food challenge that involves you and a partner trying to down a 28" mega meat pizza. We will have to add this to our list of local food challenges.
