If a special election is called, it will be an intensely contested race. [New York Times]
Columbus Crew Relocation Roundup ⚽️Sports Illustrated's Brian Straus weighs in: "Crew's Fabric is Interwoven With Columbus; If Precourt Can't See That, He Should Sell, Not Move" [Sports Illustrated]Dirty South Soccer calls it a betrayal, not business. [Dirty South Soccer]Precourt had been courting Austin for months - much of this seems to be a farce, even though he says he is looking at both cities concurrently. [Business First/Newpoff]Precourt was in Austin Wednesday touting Austin's as an "amazing opportunity." That statement makes it hard to understand what he is looking for from Columbus - assuming the move to Austin isn't already a done deal. [Dispatch/Erickson]MLS had not approved the move, with a source saying Precourt "went rogue." [@TwoUnitedFans]Finally, for the hardcore fans, Massive Report writes about dealing with the loss.
