Spirit Airlines is bringing ridiculously cheap flights to Columbus βοΈπΈ
Hello Thursday. It's James.
Another budget airline will start flying out of John Glenn International Airport starting February, 2018. Spirit Airlines will have service to seven locations, including Las Vegas and Orlando.
Spirit is an ultra low cost airline, meaning you pay extra for nearly everything a traditional carrier would include, which has led to some criticism of the airline. But if you can manage with an under the seat bag (carry one in overhead compartments are extra) and no in flight snacks, it's a great way to get somewhere at a reasonable price. Having to travel light and think ahead to get the lowest prices can be a pain, but it's great to have more flight options. Hit the link to see where Spirit will be flying initially, and more on how the airline operates.

Fischer expressed regret for how the situation has been handled to date, and said he and Mayor Ginther hope to learn what needs to happen to keep the Crew in Columbus. Fischer also expanded on news that local investors had made offers for the team: "Precourt turned down an offer to purchase all or part of the team that would have given him βa great profit on his investment." [Dispatch/Rouan]In further Crew news, SB Nation looks at publicly available data to show that the argument the Crew are losing money is implausible.
