Hamilton Is Coming And It Won't Be Quiet Uptown On Ticket Release Day๐ŸŽฉ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ“†

Columbus Navigator Logo

Happy Thursday, friends, it's Tracie.

I was a little late to the Hamilton fandom (let's be honest, I'm a little late to most popular things), but after listening to the soundtrack just once, I was hooked. I feel like if every significant historical scenario was turned into a musical, we'd all be a lot more well informed.

Despite debuting in 2015, the Hamilton craze isn't slowing down, and tickets are expected to sell out. Quickly. In an effort to help keep the tickets in the hands of fans (and not bots), there's a new "verified fan" process, so hit the link below and find out what you need to know to make sure Washington's on your side November 15.

But really, when

aren't

you craving nachos?  Is that just me?  I will say, there's one important nacho hotspot missing from this list...Taco Bell. For real, there's a time and a place for every type of nacho and sometimes it's Taco Bell. Most of the time though, it's one on this list ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Most of these adorable homes come in well under the $200k max, and every side of town is well represented. But, that Upper Arlington condo? So dreamy.

Still unclear if this is a one-time engagement or if the truck will be making regular appearances. I'm sure you can guess where the truck will be popping up. 3-9-oh-oh West Broad.  (If you didn't sing that, you must not have grown up in Ohio in the 80's & 90's).

Columbus creative collaboration benefiting a local non-profit? What more do you need to know?  Oh yeah, the release party is at Land-Grant Brewing featuring Ray Ray's BBQ. Name a more perfect, powerhouse combination. I'll wait.

Talking Points โค๏ธ

Ohio libraries do well at at the ballot...

There were 25 library issues on the ballot statewide, and all but one of them passed, resoundingly. The outlier was the Stark County library in Canton.  Locally, Delaware, Fairfield County, Pickerington, and Marysville all saw success, which amounts to less than $50 per $100,000 valuation in all areas. This public support comes as state funding for libraries has fallen $100 million in the last 17 years.

After months of construction, the Ohio State Oval is ready to open...

With an aggressive schedule, a missed deadline, and headaches for students and faculty alike, the University's centerpiece is now without caution tape, and ready to be enjoyed. The project started in early April and restored the nearly 3,000 feet of underground tunnels underneath the Oval.

The homeless veteran population in Columbus is decreasing...

Mainly due to efforts by grassroots non-profit organizations. According to HUD, there are 1,600 veterans in Franklin County benefiting from the Continuum of Care program. Another factor supporting veterans is that the country's continued involvement in war has increased the public's awareness. So while war = bad, awareness = less of our country's veterans on the streets.

Nationwide demonstrations will take place today at 5 p.m.

Organized by a coalition of ACLU, Indivisible and others, the protest is in response to Attorney General Jeff Sessions forced resignation and the appointment of Mark Whitaker as acting AG. Columbus will gather at Bicentennial Park: 233 S Civic Center Drive at 5 p.m.
