What is it about true crime that keeps people enthralled? For me, the obsession started in 2014 with the podcast Serial. The genre had existed long before that, but Serial, hosted by NPR’s Sarah Koenig was something different. In a way, it opened the genre up to a whole new audience. Since then, series like The Jinx, which shocked viewers with a confession from the infamous Robert Durst and Netflix’s “Making A Murderer” have come into the forefront of criminal entertainment.Navigator writer Zoey Miller dug into some of Central Ohio’s most interesting unsolved cases. The thing about true crime is that ultimately, it’s not just a matter of watching a scary story unfold.
