Happy Thursday! Chelsea here.
When I was a kid, I don't think I appreciated the Metro Parks the way that they deserved. As I've moved through the various stages of adulthood in Columbus, I've really come to enjoy and admire the service provided by Metro Parks, and that became especially true in 2020. Is it weird to be a fan of a government agency? Because Metro Parks and NASA are both pretty high up on my list. ๐ But for real, my love for the parks has only increased since I found out that they're hosting super awesome events like these two upcoming "paddle-themed" days at Prairie Oaks. I can't wait to get out on the water!

Have you ever wondered what our fair city was like back in the 1950s? All four of my grandparents moved to Columbus from Appalachia during that decade, and I've always wondered what it must have looked like back then. These old videos show a bustling metropolis that at times, feels more crowded than it is now, even though we have nearly three times the population.

Sponsored by Greater Columbus Sports CommissionThe Community Cup presented by the Columbus Foundation is a one-day athletic challenge open to companies of all sizes. Sponsored by Greater Columbus Arts CouncilFor writer, actor, and director Phillip Hickman, theatre is so much more than performance. โOne of the most beautiful things about theater is that it is by nature collaborative," says Hickman. "The words on the page, the set, the costumes, the actors all work together to create something beyond the individual components.โ To learn more about Hickman or other Columbus artists, visit columbusmakesart.com. ๐ญ
