Things Are Getting WILD-er At The Columbus Zoo π―πΈπ

Happy Thursday! It's Tracie.
This is especially timely for me as I just spent a full day herding my wild brood at the zoo, along with some friends. Our zoo is amazing (not to mention YUGE), and it's also the best in the country, so it's no surprise that the National Geographic channel headed to the Buckeye State when hoping to showcase a behind the scenes experience.
Personally, if they featured only the cheetahs with their canine companions, I think the show would be a ratings smash. If you haven't stopped by the "watering hole" for the daily cheetah run, you are missing out. Tall, quick, felines paired with adorable, clumsy canines is what keeps me coming back.

Around Town πFor some shops around town, there's more to view than just their wares. Having a store "mascot" can be a boon for business, with the pets becoming just as much of a reason to visit than the actual goods for sale. Longread Columbus Monthly has posted the results of their annual "Best Of" survey, chronicling the top places around town for everything from local news personalities to the perfect farmer's markets. And while sometimes I feel like this list is a little repetitive (we get it, WNCI is "the best" radio station every year), or generic (really? I love Nordstrom just as much as the next guy, but it's "the best" place for women's shopping?), it can be a great resource for discovering new local gems. And also, no offense to Mr. Revish, but there's no way ol' Jerry is a better news anchor than Matt Barnes.
