The Tall Pines At Walnut Woods Is One Of The Most Underrated Parks In Town π²

Sponsored by Decorative Arts Center Of Ohio and their new exhibition 2+3x18: Rooted in tradition from the Byzantine, Medieval, and Renaissance eras, diptychs (two-paneled pieces) and triptychs (three-paneled pieces) have been used to tell stories through the ages. This exhibition features 18 contemporary Ohio artists who have used the diptych and triptych to create remarkable stories, some focused on personal experiences and others on a life-long interest or idea. Opens July 18th! More info right here. π©βπ¨π¨
Happy Thursday! Chelsea here.
As another week is drawing to a close, I can't help but find myself wondering what beautiful places I'll get to explore this weekend. I'm all about adventuring to new places, but sometimes, there are spots that are just so good that they're worth revisiting over and over. For me, one of those places is most definitely the Tall Pines area at Walnut Woods Metro Park. If you haven't ventured out to check out this stunning park, please make time soon. There's plenty of shade and the forest is absolutely magical at sunrise and sunset.

I have to be honest here. When I heard the governor was giving a speech yesterday, I assumed we may be in for some more of that "tough-love" DeWine we all got to know back in March. Instead, Gov. DeWine went for a "fireside chat" approach, begging Ohioans to wear masks and take the pandemic seriously before it's too late.

Newport Music Hall has been a vital part of the Columbus music scene for decades. The building is up for sale with a 7-figure price tag, and you could be the new owner.

As if I don't have enough reasons to distrust society, there is now a trend taking over the internet where people cut into seemingly normal things like pickles or peaches and they are, in fact, cakes. This OSU alum is creating some of the most fantastic cakes out there and they are seriously so convincing that they hurt my brain.

This is something to bookmark. The Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association has launched a new website that allows travelers to search for independent lodging (hotels, bed & breakfasts, inn, etc.) in Ohio. Just from doing a little clicking around the different regions highlighted, it seems like a useful thing, and it's an easy way to "shop local" when you're traveling within the state.

The music + video mashup here is just ... A+ effort.

This might be heaven. You're looking at canvas bell tents at
, a 55 acre complex with cabins, lodges, and glamping areas like this one. They also have private hiking trails, two waterfalls, and a pond for paddle boating and fishing. These tents look cute on the outside, but might be even better on the inside, with queen beds, luxury bedding, and vintage rugs. It's all a great set-up for a getaway in this time of social distancing. π²π²
