Here's What Kind Of House You Can Buy In Columbus For $100k πΈ

Sponsored by Short North Stage and their new show The Motherf**ker With The Hat: An edgy trip to the dark side of hilarity, Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Stephen Adley Guirgis scored another Broadway hit with this outrageous comedy that dare not speak its name. Get your tickets here - it's closing weekend! π©π
Happy Thursday! Chelsea here.
I guess all of the time everyone spent complaining about not having any snow has finally gotten some results. If you're spending your day staying cozy inside, it's the perfect time to do a little online browsing. House browsing, that is. There are so many hidden gems around Columbus, and these $100k homes show that you don't have to have a massive price tag to have the potential to be someone's dream home.

One of the things I love most about Ohio is that we're not afraid to be a little weird. Get your cameras ready my friends, because there are some very Instagrammable moments ahead.

Stop searching for an awesome, local cafe to try. You've found it in Florin Coffee and their recently opened Linden cafe. In addition to their roasted-to-perfection beans, they're also serving up some delicious local food, including Columbus's most iconic bagels.
Talking Points β€οΈ
Emphasis on easy π
Getting out and about in the middle of winter with kids isn't always the easiest thing, but this winter has been an exception with all the mild weather. Take advantage with some easy family excursion ideas at the link below.

Defining Columbus Food π½
I love things like this anyway, but this article looking at the most famous foods & dishes in Columbus culinary history is particularly well done.

Affordable Housing Everywhere π‘
City Council just approved a housing development in the south end in what ended up being a contentious city council meeting. Council member Shannon Hardin has written an article defending his vote, and I found it to be a compelling explanation and read. It's hard to overstate just how big this issue, in all facets, is going to be in the coming years for Columbus, all over the city. (Also, how about more direct communication like this from council members? It goes a long way.)

Ohio 2 π
Please enjoy this delightful map that local writer Craig Calcaterra's daughter recently drew. It's so good that "Ohio 2" was trending yesterday on Twitter.
Last night:
Me: Got any homework?
Anna: Nah.
Me: Whatcha gonna do?
Anna: Have a map Iβm working on.
Just found this on her desk.

I love seeing all the photos of Jerzy Jotka Kedziora's sculptures all over Columbus (we recently took a look at this in Schiller Park.) They're so fun - this particular one is at the main branch of the Columbus library.
