Here are the best places to volunteer with animals in Columbus ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜

Hello Thursday, It's Tracie.

I think we can all agree that life gets a little stressful sometimes. It's important to find great ways to relax, but it's also smart to spend your time doing things that make you feel good. If animals are the source of some of your happiness (and let's face it, they totally should be) then you should really consider volunteering your time to make their lives a little better. Columbus has some great places to get up close and personal with animals of all kinds, from house pets to wildlife. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ธ

Columbus will soon be home to another new brewery. A German-style brewery and biergarten will be moving into an awesome historic building on Oak Street. ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿป

I've not yet made up my mind about Pies and Pints ๐Ÿบ. The menu is good, the beer list is impressive, but it's a chain restaurant, though locally based. I just get kind of an Applebee's feel, less the $1 margaritas. I guess patrons of the Short North location felt the same, as that location has permanently closed ๐Ÿ•

Kids who think LEGOs are just for them are suckers. We all know the truth, and the truth is that adults have been obsessed with the tiny building blocks for decades. Now, grown-ups can have their chance to play, without having to give all the good pieces up to the kiddos. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

 Around Town ๐Ÿก

This magazine article proposes 28 "secret" places to visit in Ohio.  While I disagree with the fact that any of them are secrets, specifically those in Central Ohio, there are still some good ideas. There's still time left this summer to add a few more things to the ol' bucket list.

Planning a party, especially a child's party, is kind of the bane of my existence ๐ŸŽ. I'd prefer to just open some wine and order a pizza, but I guess that's frowned upon...especially for an elementary school party. Lucky for us, there's a new party planner in town.

 Longread ๐Ÿฅ—

For a long time, I didn't realize that Iceberg lettuce was relatively looked down upon by those with prestige in the food industry.  I've always enjoyed it in a salad, and have rarely eaten a taco without it. Only recently did I learn that it's not necessarily good for you, and that a "real" and "healthy" salad will have darker greens like spinach or kale. But, mutiny ahead.
