The Thursday Conversation:The Dispatch looks at why homicide clearance rates have fallen so far in Columbus, something we discussed back in March. The police, not surprisingly, mostly seem to blame a lack of resources. [Dispatch/Burger]John Kasich revealed that Ohio continues to try to lure Foxconn into building something in Ohio. Given that Wisconsin's deal, even in the best case scenario, wouldn't get the state to a break even point until 2043, you have to hope Ohio will be wary here. Kasich sounds appropriately pragmatic, saying “I’ll tell you one thing: It’s not going to take us 40 years to make back the investment we make,” he said. “We don’t buy deals.” [Business First/Hill]One of the biggest roadblocks to electric car adoption is the question of what people living in apartments will do for recharging (or anyone in dwellings that don't include a garage.) Smart Columbus is looking to solve that by providing incentives for apartments to install chargers. [CU/Warren]

But apparently we are running through sand at a rate that far exceeds natural replenishment rates.
