The Most Comprehensive List Of The Best Restaurants In Town You've Ever Seen πŸ”πŸœπŸ³

Happy Thursday, it's Tracie.

I'm a bit of a meme aficionado, if that's a thing?  One of my favorites is Laurence Fishburne saying there's a restaurant actually named "I Don't Care."  How many times have you had that conversation with your friend or family member, or even worse, love interest? In a city with so many delicious options, it still seems so easy to fall back on familiar favorites.  Or even chain restaurants. 🍴

Friends, fret no more.  Chelsea has a lengthy, detailed list of the best restaurants in town, organized by category. You're gonna wanna bookmark this article for sure. Craving chicken wings? Gotcha covered βœ”. Looking for a brewery/dinner combo? βœ”βœ”. How about something fancy to impress your paramour? βœ”βœ”βœ”.

Thursday Weather 🌑Mostly 🌞, high of 47. Chance of showers overnight and into Friday πŸŒ‚.

Navigator Originals βœοΈThe First Short North Wedding Wander Is Here πŸ‘°A nice alternative to those cheesy bridal shows at the convention center, this event will allow you to check out some traditional wedding vendors (Pursuit, Alexander Jewelers) and some unexpected options for wedding vendors (Magnolia Thunderpussy, The Candle Lab).  No wedding happening soon? It's cool, you can still stop in to these shops on North High this weekend and just tell them you're getting married. No one needs to know. πŸ˜‰Habitat For Humanity To Build Home On Statehouse Grounds πŸ‘Habitat for Humanity does great things in communities across the state (and elsewhere, of course), but a lot of times, their work isn't super visible to those not involved. πŸ”§ In an effort to bring some recognition to their mission, and involve local lawmakers in the project, they're starting their next build in a very public spot. πŸ”¨But, no, contrary to what I initially thought, the family isn't expected to move into the house while on Statehouse grounds.  How cool would that be, though?

Around Town 🏘One Ohio youth ⚾ league has some interesting items in their fundraising raffle. Guns πŸ”«. Not a joke, people. Somewhere (Canton), someone thought it was a good idea to raffle off a semi-automatic weapon for a league that services children as young as 5.  [Dispatch]The National Weather Service officially confirmed the touchdown of a tornado in Grove City Tuesday evening. This hits close to home, as my family lives in G.C. (hi Mom!). Schools were closed Wednesday and many residents face significant property damage. πŸŒ€ [NBC4i] C-bus is home to a plethora of not for profit agencies, and this list is meant to highlight just a few of them who will be impactful in town this year. One is Columbus Humane (FKA Capital Area Humane Society). Pets and philanthropy?🐩🐈 Name a better combo.  [TheColumbusFoundation]

Longread 🎬If you aren't watching Master of None on Netflix, you're missing out.  While I have started to feel conflicted about it, due to recent allegations against creator and star, Aziz Ansari, one component of the show I feel no conflict about is Lena Waithe. πŸ’•In addition to being the first black woman to win an Emmy for writing on a comedy series, she also costars. In one poignant episode, Lena's character comes out to her mother. And for young people looking to see themselves represented in the media, this was a great moment.  Lena herself is also gay, which adds another dimension of acceptance for gay women of color looking for someone to identify with in the mainstream media. πŸŽ₯As the article states: we both know that, even as Hollywood’s doors are being shaken, there is still so much work left to be done.Vanity Fair: Lena Waithe Is Changing The Game
