Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

Farewell September! You were hotter than any of us would have liked, but still, we're sad to see you go. I can't believe that tomorrow is October. Probably because it still feels like July outside, but nonetheless, October is upon us. Before we get too deep into spooky, scary things, let's take a moment to check out one of the most interesting properties I've ever seen in Columbus. If you're looking to start your own exclusive school for mutants (or regular kids) then look no further. This mansion estate is quite impressive.

There are so many amazing things happening this week. What do you have planned?

I love an old house. I especially love when there's an opportunity to take a closer look at historical homes, which is why I'm pretty jazzed about the upcoming Tour of Homes in Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff. They're two of Columbus's oldest neighborhoods and we only get a chance for their tour once every three years.

Columbus grows in phases. There are a multitude of new skyscrapers on the horizon here, but there are some old beauties that won't be losing their spot in the Top 10 any time soon.

Talking Points ❀️

Rabid Trash Pandas 🦝

This is a fascinating read on the effort to vaccinate raccoons against rabies. Ohio plays an important role, one that includes airdropping(!) vaccines:

Clipper Lore ⚾️

Have you ever wondered why the Clippers are named the Clippers? (It's not because of Christopher Columbus.)

Gradually, Then All At Once 🏑

I think that's how we'll describe how the housing crisis in Columbus came about one day. Despite rapidly increasing demand, central Ohio home construction has dropped sharply in the last 12 months. This is nothing new - home construction has lagged demand for a decade now, and industry analysts say the region should be adding "14,000 to 21,000 new homes and apartments" on a yearly basis right now. Instead, we've been at about 8,000 a year, and it looks like that number has recently declined to 7,000.

The Columbus Crew's 2019 season has come to a close, and while the on-field performance wasn't up to their usual standards attendance was up 19%, and also the team, you know, existed. A win all the way around in my book. πŸ“Έ:
