5 Fixer-Uppers In Hot Columbus Neighborhoods For Under $170k πŸ‘πŸ›

West Side Story

Sponsored by Short North Stage and their new performance of West Side Story: Moving and fiercely energetic, this timeless love story set in 1950s New York City features some of the most magnificent music and exciting dancing in Broadway history. Its incandescent tale of tragedy and hope amid the violent feuding between local and immigrant gangs resonates powerfully in today’s political climate. The show runs through November 17th - buy your tickets here! πŸŽπŸ‡΅πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

Welcome back to another week, my friends. I'm kicking it off with a look at some fantastic fixer-uppers around Columbus. These five properties are varying in the amount of rehab needed, but one thing they all have in common is their location. All of these houses are in Columbus's hottest neighborhoods and they're all under $170,000. Who's ready to create their dream home?

Still looking for something to fun to do around Columbus this week? Let us make a few suggestions.

I'm a sucker for a good burger and no one does them quite like Preston's. The popular burger joint is finally expanding to their own brick and mortar spot, and I can't wait.

This post is sponsored, but my genuine appreciation for James Thurber and his contributions as a multi-talented writer is not. Later this week, a talented finalist will be honored with the Thurber Prize for American Humor in an evening event full of laughter and hilarity.

Talking Points ❀️

Already The Goal Of The Year πŸ’

The Blue Jackets were hit hard in free agency this offseason, but so far they are hanging in there at 3-3-2. The real news I have to bring you, however, is that Sonny Milano has already scored the goal of the year, which you can watch here in this 22-second clip that you will 100% not regret watching. Watch the crazy trick shot so good even actress Alyssa Milano took notice:

Priorities 🚨

Over the weekend, a robustly reported series from the Dispatch on Sullivant Avenue came out, in three parts. I have some reservations about the purple prose and lurid descriptions, and I also wonder why it took the murder of Donna Castleberry by a Columbus detective for the paper of record in town to look into Sullivant Avenue, but it's worth reading.

The 40th(!) Columbus Marathon happened Sunday morning. Here's an article looking back at the history of the race and how it's changed, plus an awesome piece of art that was on display:
