Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

I had an absolutely wild weekend, my friends. It was super busy but also incredibly fun, mostly because I got to do a bunch of cool things around this wonderful city of ours. One of the highlights was my visit to Scene75 at Tuttle Mall. I don't know what I was imagining when I heard that it was the country's largest indoor entertainment center, but whatever it was, it wasn't big enough. This place is freaking massive. It's kind of a hard place to sum up. It has an "everything under the sun" aesthetic that feels a bit throwback, and also there's an indoor roller coaster. So there's that. Check out my visit and photos at the link.

Talking Points ❀️

Harper vs. Beatty Goes National πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Columbus is already in the political spotlight as we await the Tuesday night Democratic Party debate in Westerville. The New York Times takes a look at Morgan Harper, the primary challenger to Joyce Beatty in one of the most solidly blue districts in the country (thanks to Ohio GOP gerrymandering). Harper has raised $323,000 a surprising amount of money for this stage of a campaign in Ohio's Third District.

Choosing Columbus ❀️

Saeed Jones is a noteworthy award-winning American poet and former Buzzfeed editor who just released a

that has been called one of the most anticipated books of 2019.

He also just moved to Columbus and would like you to know why. This is a phenomenal short read, and if you're anything like me, will have you immediately purchasing his memoir.

City Council Candidates πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

There are 8 people vying for 4 seats. The sole issue that seems to separate challengers from incumbents seems to be tax abatements. The article below has a quick rundown on each candidate and is worth a skim.
