Heartbreaking News From Chris Bradley

Columbus Navigator Logo

Hello Monday. It's James.

I'm so, so saddened to pass along this news.

Chris Bradley and his family have shared in a Facebook post that he has transitioned from palliative care to hospice care.

It's impossible to think of anyone more loved in this city since his arrival. I hope (and believe) the Columbus community will envelop Chris and his family in love, both now and in the coming years.

The Mayor Ginther One Linden plan was recently released, and it will be an interesting effort to follow over the next few years. In this article, Jon Seymour lays out why he believes revitalization is definitely possible, but it's a differently constructed neighborhood from the sorts of places where Columbus has previously found success with public-private partnerships. It would be fair to call the characterization Linden suburban vs. an urban area like Short North, which changes the equation a bit.

And speaking of the Short North, Tracie had the opportunity to tour Valencia, a new 35 unit building at 1051 N High Street. The photos are intriguing, and the views, even in a smaller building like this, are beautiful.

This time's the charm?...

Ohio's payday lending reform may have actually hit the mark this time after previous efforts were riddled with loopholes and exceptions. At a Pew Charitable Trusts conference last week, the bill was actually held up as a nationwide example for payday lending reform. The new law caps interest rates and makes fees totaling more than 60% of the original loan value illegal.
