Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

We're back at it for another week, my friends. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend. The sun was shining, the Buckeyes won, and I got to go somewhere new, so there's not much more that I can ask for really. If you're searching for a place to grab a drink and a bite after work, I highly suggest heading over to Taft's Brewporium in Franklinton. I had the opportunity to check it out on Friday and it was such a good time. The beers were delicious, the New Haven-style pizza was incredible, and the vibe was great.

It's time to start making your plans for the week. There's a lot going on ahead of next week and Thanksgiving.

 πŸŽ…

I still can't believe we're already talking about Christmas events, but these things sell out so fast. If you're hoping to have breakfast with the man himself, you should probably snag your tickets in advance.

Talking Points ❀️

Getting Real Now 🏈

It's Penn State week and you know it's a big deal because ESPN's College GameDay will be hosting live from Columbus on Saturday morning. It's the first time they've been in Columbus since all the way back in the halcyon days of 2018 when they came for Michigan week. Really feels like that was a decade ago. Anyway, Fox's pre-game show, Big Noon Kickoff, will also be in town, but I dunno if anyone cares about that. Ohio State is an 18 point favorite over Penn State.

Hyper Dreams πŸš…

New York magazine's issue this month is "The Future Issue" and we're in it. It's a bold prediction:

(Sort Of) High Praise ❀️

I guess you've made it as a city when regional rivals start saying they need to do better to keep pace. This is kind of a fun letter to the editor, at least from our perspective:

Police Chief Finalists 🚨

The search for a new Columbus chief of police is down to two men: Perry Tarrant is the former assistant police chief in Seattle, while Thomas Quinlan is the current interim-city chief in Columbus. The two will be participating in a community forum on Thursday at 6 pm at East High School. The Dispatch has more details, including a rundown of the two candidates - I have to say that Tarrant sounds as if he understands the problems with Columbus policing currently, which is a good start.
