One of the things I love most about living here in Ohio is our state park system. We have so many stunning places to explore the great outdoors, and now we’re getting a new one! Great Council State Park will open next month and it will pay homage to the indigenous people of Ohio, offering visitors a chance to explore what life was like for the inhabitants of Ohio going back centuries.

Real pirates? Lame. Dressing up as whimsical pirates to spend a weekend swashbuckling your way around Buckeye Lake? Sign. Me. Up. Seriously, this sounds like so much fun. It’s the first year for this event and I can’t wait to see everyone in all of their pirate finery.

📚🎥 Dive Into the Magic of Books at Gateway Film Center’s “From Book to Film 2024” Series
The Book to Film series is one of my favorite summer movie series and this year, they’ve got an incredible line-up. If this is a sign of things to come this summer, I can’t wait!
