Hello, Monday! Chelsea here.
As most of you have probably heard by now, Governor DeWine and Dr. Acton have officially put out a Stay-At-Home order for the state of Ohio. For most of us, this probably won't be much different from what we've already been doing, but several non-essential businesses will be closed after the order goes into effect tonight at 11:59 p.m. Now is the time to get very serious about staying in, practicing social distancing, and fighting this virus with everything we've got. We can do this, Columbus! You can read the full order and get caught up to speed at the link below.

I want you all to know that we are committed to keeping you informed about everything coronavirus-related happening in Columbus. But I also want to encourage you to take a step back from the 24-hour news cycle and give your minds a chance to think about something else. That's why you're going to see some stories that are non-coronavirus related. It's okay to have a little fun, decompress, and daydream about stuff, and we're going to be there right along with you. And if we're daydreaming about things, it should 100% be this insanely gorgeous house near Bexley.

I briefly touched on this last week in our 5 Moments of Joy round-up, but it's so worthy of its own story. Drag queen and extraordinary human being Nina West has started live-streaming a storytime show on Instagram for kids, and it's utterly fantastic. If you've got littles running around, tune in. They will have a blast, and so will you.

The Flood Of 2020 βοΈ
As if we aren't going through enough, many central Ohioans experienced catastrophically flooded basements on Friday after torrential rain that saw some people in Licking County
. Licking County also saw a washed-out section SR 79 -

. The Scioto flooded as well - this is definitely
. The 60-hour rain report for our region explains how things got so crazy, with 3-5 inches of rain all over central Ohio.

More things will remain open during the stay-at-home order, and it's likely in the coming weeks you'll wonder about different kinds of stores. This list is a nice guide to have for reference.

Thankful πΊπΈ
So many of the liberal people I know have told me or posted on social media about how grateful they are to Governor DeWine for the leadership he's displayed recently, particularly when contrasted with other examples. It's nice to see him get some deserved national recognition (and for Ohio to be recognized for trying to get in front of this thing.)

Maybe it's that we're all being a little extra quiet this year, but am I crazy or are the birds extra loud this spring? I can't say I mind the noise. This pretty bird is a chickadee currently hanging out somewhere in central Ohio. π¦
