The Short North Food Hall is bringing back the food court with style ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿฃ

Columbus Navigator Logo

Hello Monday. It's James.

Are you nostalgic for the mall food court experience but you don't actually go to that kind of mall anymore?

Ok, that might just be me (when you come from a small town malls are a little more novel than maybe is normal) but this new Short North concept is still one to watch. Five vendors will be setting up in one location, selling everything from pizza to tacos to BBQ, and more. It'll feel a lot like a mall food court, with vendors ringing the edges and guests able to order at counters (or from the bar or even from waitstaff at your table.) Hit the link for more details, including more on the vendors and some pretty intriguing looks at the food that'll be on offer.

Navigator Originals โœ๏ธMake Your St. Patrickโ€™s Day Extra Green At The Franklin Park Conservatory Retired Plant Sale ๐ŸŒป๐ŸŒบEvery day I try to will it to stop being winter, and lately it's definitely not working, but a way to fake some spring is to buy some new plants. People are catching on that Franklin Park Conservatory's sale is an excellent way to procure some interesting plants at bargain basement prices, so you may want to show up early, but it's super worth it.The Winter Baby Boom At The Zoo Is The Heartwarming News You Need Today ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ’I feel like I don't need to work too hard to persuade you on this link, so I'll just go with the obvious: there's baby otters and a very cute baby penguin named Her Majesty Gertrude Sprinklebottom behind this door. Around Town ๐Ÿ˜The New York Times has found the most insufferable man in America, and he lives near Athens. Erik Hagerman decided to ignore all news after the election of Donald Trump, and this is his story, up to and including Hagerman telling a recent friend who is a recent immigrant and new American citizen that he's become "officially cross" with her for discussing immigration. Athens coffee shop Donkey Coffee gets a shoutout, and there are some nice photos of southeastern Ohio, so there's that. [New York Times]Ohio State basketball programs will be dancing this week. The men earned a 5 seed and will play Thursday at 4:00 PM vs. South Dakota State, while the women will find out their fate on Monday evening (they are a projected 3 seed in ESPN's latest bracketology.) Link takes you to a story on the men's expectations entering the tournament. [Eleven Warriors]In more sports, the Columbus Crew look like the class of MLS so far, winning their second straight game 3-2 over Montreal in their home opener. And thus begins the attendance figure manipulation - attendance was announced at 11k in a stadium that just didn't look that empty. The Crew are now 2-0 on the season and they've looked impressive getting there. [Massive Report]The new convention center hotel will officially be announced today - and here's the most up to date rendering. This proposal would add 468 rooms - the existing Hilton has 532, which would give Hilton a nice round 1,000 rooms. [Hilton Downtown Addition]
