Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

This is Ohio and people take talking about the weather very seriously, so I'm sure you've already heard that we are in for one sweltering week of heat. Summer hasn't officially started yet, but it will certainly feel like it over the next few days. There are lots of ways to cool off, but one of the most fun ways is to plan a visit to one of the gorgeous lakes around Ohio. The cool water will feel great, but remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and give yourself lots of time out of the direct sun! Luckily, most of these lakes have treelined shores, so you should be able to find plenty of shade.

If you've been a subscriber here for a while now, you know that I'm a big nerd. There's no fictional world I love more than Middle Earth, so when I heard there were some old coal ovens in Columbiana County that resembled the Shire, you know I had to find out for myself. This unique piece of history is definitely worth a little road trip, friends.

Mixed media artist Stephanie Rond has been creating visual art in Columbus for a long time. "I would describe the arts in Columbus as thriving and respectful. Columbus is a very rare gem when it comes to the arts community," explained Rond. "It’s hard to explain to those who have not experienced it. On any given day you can see DIY artists working right alongside the arts organizations to bring the community the very best art experiences."
