Hello Monday. It's Chelsea.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did. I know everyone says, "Don't meet your heroes". But I met one of mine this weekend the experience was absolutely amazing. Wizard World Columbus was going on at the convention center and it had some major star power. Although a ton of people were there to see Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, I was there for a certain Scotsman. 12-year-old me would have been so proud of how I casually walked up to Billy Boyd, aka the BEST Hobbit, and started chatting. But that's the thing about conventions:

they bring everyone together in the most amazing ways

Monday Weather 🌡80. We're looking at some rain. Showers and thunderstorms likely all day and into the evening. ⛈

Navigator Originals ✏️Help Name The Baby Manatee At Columbus Zoo And AquariumThe Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is asking for your help naming an orphaned manatee calf! There are four, Ohio inspired names to choose from and voting is open until June 22. Big Changes At The Scioto Peninsula Project, Including A New DeveloperIndiana based developer Buckingham Cos. is out of the Scioto Peninsula project. The Columbus Downtown Development Corporation will be taking over the project and begin parceling out smaller portions of land for new developers.

Around Town 🏘The Tournament, a $2 million winner-take-all basketball tournament featuring teams of ex-pros and college stars, is set to start on July 21st. You'll be able to see former Ohio State players like William Buford, Aaron Craft, Jon Diebler, Dallas Lauderdale, David Lighty, Evan Ravenel, and potentially Jared Sullinger at Capital University where early tournament games will take place. [Eleven Warriors]The Dispatch has done some good work covering how a 315 exit was demolished with little to no public input. I'm not sure the result was something to get worked up about, which makes it odd that public officials seemingly went to such lengths to avoid scrutiny. The story does discuss how decision makers were recipients of Ohio Health campaign donations, with Ohio Health the prime beneficiary of the exit closing. [Dispatch/Bush]Alt Eats Columbus has been in search of the most authentic Chinese food in Columbus (while acknowledging it's a bit of an arbitrary measuring stick.) They recently visited China House in Westerville. [Alt Eats Columbus]
