Sneak Peek: Fox In The Snow Cafe: German Village π¦βοΈβοΈ
Fox In The Snow has to be viewed as one of the most successful local food openings in recent years, and so it's not a surprise to see them beginning to expand.
Their new German Village location is predictably gorgeous (much like their beautiful
account), and we have the pictures to prove it.

Around Town πMassive Report does some research and conclusively proves that locally owned MLS teams experience more success, whether that's on the field or financial. Theories as to why include easier monetization for a local owner (advertising and naming deals) due to a larger network of connections. His research also determines a stadium in the urban core is a large indicator of success. If his findings hold, either of those factors would probably push the Crew over 20,000 fans a game, meaning much of what MLS leadership says about Columbus is misleading. [Massive Report]Did you know 32 of the last 36 Columbus City Council members were appointed and not elected? It's not something that gets discussed much by traditional media in Columbus, but it's come to the forefront lately with threats of lawsuits and agitation by Yes We Can members who are arguing the newest appointment should be the first runner up from the recent election. Yes We Can will be rallying this afternoon at City Hall to bring attention to their cause. [Facebook]ICE is moving forward with the deportation of a man named Yancarlos Mendez in Cincinnati who is the sole provider and trained caregiver of a 6 year old paraplegic boy. As is so common with these stories in the last year, Mendez has committed no crimes and is employed (as an auto mechanic.) Mendez has been in a relationship with the boy's mother, and is the only father the boy has ever known (his birth father was abusive.) The 6 year old boy, Ricky, became paralyzed in February following an auto accident, and Mendez underwent medical training to care for him. [Cincinnati Enquirer]This will be a hot topic today: Ohio State's men's basketball team upset #1 Michigan State yesterday 80-64. New OSU coach Chris Holtmann is off to a hot start - the Buckeyes are now 13-4, should be ranked today for the first time this season, and look like a potential NCAA Tournament team. Longread πMedieval Europeans didn't know what elephants looked like. But they drew what they thought they might look like, and those drawings are terrific. After the fall of the Roman Empire, elephants virtually disappeared from Western Europe. Since there was no real knowledge of how this animal actually looked, illustrators had to rely on oral and written transmissions to morphologically reconstruct the elephant, thus reinventing an actual existing creature.Kottke: Medieval illustrations of what Europeans thought elephants looked like
