This 1990s Columbus Tourism Video Is A Whole Mood 🎥

Decorative Arts From The Tsars to the USSR

Sponsored by Decorative Arts Center of Ohio and their new virtual exhibit Russian Decorative Arts from the Tsars to the USSR. From decades of collecting Russian decorative arts, commissioning works from USSR artists, and exploring Russia's vast territories, curator Michael Reese takes us on a visual journey through Russian history from the time of the tsars to the fall of the USSR. The exhibition paints a clear decorative picture of what it was like to live in Russia during those tumultuous times. Featured objects tell stories of wealth and poverty, political struggle, fashion, and religion. Click here for more details! 🇷🇺

Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

Happy New Year, my friends! I'm so thrilled to be starting our mornings off together once again. Since it's Monday, and the first day back after a holiday break, I thought we'd start out with something fun and easy. This tourism video from the early 1990s is quite a nostalgic watch, filled with familiar faces and places.

It's no secret that I love Bob Ross, so you can only imagine my excitement at sharing this awesome mini-road trip with you all. It's only about 2.5 hours away and let's be real, totally worth the drive.

Wondering what to do with your live Christmas tree now that the holidays are over? Have no fear, you've got a variety of disposal methods available, including one that helps out local wildlife.

It's championship week

as Ohio State put a hurting on Clemson last Friday night, winning their semi-final playoff game 49-28. It was fitting revenge after Clemson coach Dabo Swinney

Coronavirus Updates 💊

Looking back:

The New Yorker has only devoted an entire issue to a single essay a few times in their 95 year history, most famously in 1946 with '

'. Their latest issue entirely consists of the following essay, an incredible, devastating read.

On schools:

This article about Brookline, Massachusetts could have been written about numerous wealthy areas in Columbus, particularly (from what I have read and heard) Bexley, Upper Arlington, and Dublin.

Today's Photo 🤳

This feels like an appropriate shot as we start our second COVID-19 year - a year which will hopefully have an opposite trajectory from 2020 now that we have vaccines. The finish line is in sight, so it's more important than ever to be like Mr. Schiller here and keep our masks up. ❤️
