A Visit To This Iconic Columbus Diner Is An Absolute Must 🍽

Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

Let's start this week off right, with some delicious breakfast from a Columbus institution. Tommy's Diner opened in Franklinton in 1989, and they've been serving up delicious food to a very loyal customer base for the last three decades. Dining at Tommy's is always a great experience, from the helpful staff to the friendly regulars to the incredible food. Nobody does classic diner vibes quite like Tommy's.

The new shop, featuring cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, creative treats, wedding cakes, and more will be open later this week. I sat down with founder Juana Williams to learn more about this budding family business.

I can't believe it's already the last week of February. I guess time flies when you're having fun after all! What have you got planned for the week?

Talking Points ❀️

Congested πŸš™

The congestion at the 71/70 split is getting even worse in recent years, possibly due to the construction slated to last several more years. A recent study finds your average speed is likely to fall all the way to 35 MPH during rush hour - and that rush hour

, lasting more like 6 AM - 10 AM in the morning, and 3 PM - 7 PM in the evening. The study ranked the split at #97 in a list of the 100 worst bottlenecks in the country.

South Side Gentrification 🏑

Kudos to the Dispatch on this article on south side gentrification that includes so many jaw dropping sentences that I don't even know what to highlight. Here's one though:

"In the past two years, 30 of the 62 houses have sold on the three blocks of Siebert Street that includes Cole’s home. Of those that sold, 20 have been β€œflipped” and others are poised to follow."

Basically An Ohio Route 66 πŸš™

This is a genius way to plan a road trip. 23 spots to visit on State Route 23, from Columbus to the Ohio River.

46 and cloudy, with rain likely, starting in the early evening
