A One-Of-A-Kind DIY Experience Is Waiting For You In Franklinton πŸ”¨πŸΈ

Barbara Shermund exhibit

Sponsored by Decorative Arts Center of Ohio: The 2020 season kicks off January 25th with the exhibition Tell Me a Story Where the Bad Girl Wins: The Life & Art of Barbara Shermund. Starting in 1925, Shermund contributed nine covers and hundreds of cartoons to the New Yorker, and later became a celebrated mainstay at Esquire. Her cartoons had a fierce and feminist electricity rarely seen in that era of male dominated cartooning. The show runs through April 26th and you can find more details right hereπŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Happy Monday! Chelsea here.

Welcome back to another week, my friends. I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed the little bit of snow we got! I saw a handful of truly excellent snowmen around town this weekend and it made my heart so happy. Speaking of happy hearts, I have to tell you all about a real game-changer in Columbus. Makers Social is officially open. It's a DIY craft cocktail bar where you can sip on a drink while you handmake something incredible. Honestly, this place is so cool. I can envision many bachelorette parties, work gatherings, and birthday celebrations going down at this fun Franklinton spot. Go create something beautiful, Columbus!

We're kicking Monday off with some pretty big statements. This tiny, mom-and-pop pizza place on Cleveland Ave. has a cult-like following, and after eating there, they seem to have gained yet another fan in Malini Swank. She took her whole fam to try out Terita's Pizza and they were not disappointed.

It finally feels like it's actually winter in Columbus. But that doesn't mean you have to stay inside this week. There is plenty going on around town, and you can get all the deetz here.

Talking Points ❀️

The Circles 🌳

Have you ever noticed the small pocket-park-like "circles" between 5th and King near Victorian Village? (Here's a

). Here's the story behind them.

Chef Jonathan Sawyer is one of the more famous chefs from Ohio, and Ohio Magazine recently took a look at his first restaurant outside of Cleveland - SeeSaw in the Short North.

The Best Parks 🌳

You hopefully know how amazing Columbus Metro Parks all are, but the rest of Ohio also does a great job with parks, especially Dayton. National Geographic calls it an "adventure capital" with 16,000 acres of parkland that have "revitalized the city."

This message from Merion Village is very accurate. Not sure if you require a daily serving, but it wouldn't hurt. 🎨
