I'm not sure Columbus usually does ostentatious, but we do now. Jeff Ruby is a restauranteur legend in Cincinnati, and it is going to be fascinating to see if that translates to Columbus.

If you haven't kept up with everything happening with the Crew, this documentary will get you up to speed. And while you can't draw conclusions from a comment section, it really doesn't sound like Crew's preferred stadium site has strong support in Austin - most people seem to think the stadium should go on the outskirts of town where access and parking would be easier. So much about this relocation seems like a lateral move, at best, for the Crew.Eagles Expand Their Tour To Include Columbus ShowNationwide Arena on April 8th.Franklin County Jail’s Usage Of Tasors Is So Heinous, The United Nations Is Calling For An InvestigationWhatever you might think of trigger warnings, this deserves one. Around Town 🏘What happens when a town's only grocery store closes? It happened in Carrolton last January when Thorne's, a small grocery chain started in 1972, closed its doors. Wal-Mart is 40 minutes away, and the only fresh foods in town come from Dollar General, which stores very few basics. [WOSU]Columbus is possibly violating the Voting Rights Act with its at-large electoral method for city council. The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund has sent a letter to city council advising them that they are looking into the situation as a precursor to a potential lawsuit challenge. I've yet to see a convincing argument for why electing council members this way is preferable to the alternative. [CityLab]Breakfast with Nick checks out Smoked on High, one of my favorite new restaurants that opened in 2017. Zoey also visited back in August. If you haven't checked it out yet, you really owe it to yourself. I recommend the brisket, and the mac and cheese is as good as you'd hope it would be from a good BBQ place. [Breakfast With Nick]It looks like the poor deer in Upper Arlington has finally shed the Halloween candy bucket that was stuck on its head.
