What Comes Next

Welcome Back. Chelsea here.

After this weekend, particularly with Dayton being so close to home, it feels weird to treat today's newsletter as just another day, so I'm not going to do that. If you want to hit delete or scroll down to where we will talk about more Navigator-type things, that's ok, I don't blame you. My goal here is never to get on a soapbox - I view everyone who reads this every day as a friend, and I think of this as a conversation when it's working at its best. Hopefully, you feel that way too, and so hopefully you'll bear with me for just a minute.

I'm tired. I know I'm not alone. I'm sure you feel that way too. Most everyone hates this. We're all being repeatedly traumatized and living with the horror, with seemingly no end in sight.

All of us knew it would happen here in Ohio eventually. But then again, it really happens here every day. We have shootings where "only" one or two or three or four people die ... all the time here in Columbus. It's routine. It doesn't have to be this way.

Moms Demand Action is holding a new member meeting Wednesday, August 7th.

. Joining this group (or March For Our Lives -

) is the most effective way right now to help create change. Moms has been extremely effective in passing common sense gun legislation around the country, even in states with Republican leadership. It's easy to fall into despair - trust me, I understand, but good, effective work is being done. And you can help just by showing up. Truly. โค๏ธ

There's been a lot of buzz lately about the North Market. But the most recent news isn't something you'll have to wait for. Over the weekend, the mezzanine level got all new seating... and a super fun new table that's not for eating at all.

A secluded retreat sounds very nice right about now. And this dream home on Buckeye Lake looks pretty darn relaxing.

People of the world, spice up your life. Well, people of Columbus, spice up your diet, is probably more appropriate. This weekend, you can stop by the inaugural Columbus Fiery Foods Fest and sample some of the hottest wares around the city.
