Start your Monday off with the best donuts in Columbus π©π©π

Welcome back. It's Chelsea.
I hope you all enjoyed that sunshine and warm weather this weekend! We're going to kick this week off talking about one of the most delicious items humankind has ever invented: donuts. Nothing can turn a rough Monday morning around faster than a sweet and doughy breakfast pastry.
So leave a little extra time this morning, because once you read this, you'll definitely want to grab a bite to eat on your way into the office.

Monday Weather π‘Chance of snow (I know) in the morning, then changes to a chance of rain. 42 and cloudy/breezy. π§
Navigator Originals βοΈBrewDogβs Short North Pub Is Finally OpenThe first standalone pub in the U.S. from BrewDog is officially open. The Short North pub had a packed house this weekend. The bar has a great selection of BrewDog originals as well as other local and guest drafts. See photos of opening night at the link above. Hidden Gem: Golden Donuts & Diner Has The Best Breakfast In ColumbusI don't throw around terms like "best breakfast" willy nilly. If I say it, I mean it and trust me, I mean it. I've had the opportunity to check out a lot of "off the beaten path" restaurants for Columbus Navigator, but this is my favorite to date. The service was amazing and the food was absolutely perfect. Golden Donuts & Diner should absolutely be at the top of your list of breakfast diners.
Around Town πThe Ohio State University says it will spend nearly $19 million updating Wi-Fi access across the whole campus, including Ohio Stadium and the Schottenstein Center. Officials expect the updates to be completed by 2020. [WBNS 10TV]The city set a rainfall record yesterday. 2.06 inches fell on Columbus before 8 p.m. last night at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The previous record, 1.46 inches was set in 1939. Although the temperatures will be chillier than the weekend, it seems the rain has passed for now. [Dispatch]The Columbus Blue Jackets went up 2-0 on the Washington Capitals in their first-round playoff series, again winning in OT. My heart can't take this much overtime playoff hockey. They return home this week for games 3 and 4. Watch the game-winning goal at the link. [1st Ohio Battery Twitter]

Longread π€΄This feature of Mister Rogers, probably the purest human being to live in recent decades, is being made into a film titled You Are My Friend, starring Tom Hanks. The movie isn't a Rogers biopic, but is instead specifically about this magazine profile, one of the best I've ever personally come across."Fred Rogers has been doing the same small good thing for a very long time..."Esquire: Can You Say ...
